There is an ominous cloud layer that fills the sky this evening. A warning has been issued for severe weather and I'm calmly sitting here at my computer exploring the thought. We northerners do not see the kind of weather systems so common to Tornado alley to the south but with the recent encounter of both earthquake and tornado on the same day in Ottawa and southern ontario, the blasé meter has ratcheted up a few points. Still it is not enough to make me run for the basement. I checked out the radar and the heavy weather is once again going to pass to the south. I will keep an eye to the maps but things are fairly quiet at the moment and the bats are flying around the yard. I think I trust their radar as more immediate and sensitive to present danger. The sun is going down quickly now. The dark will hide the depth and strength of the cloud layer. So back to the radar with my feet up on the desk. It is not hot enough to generate anything to warrant the title the Ides of July, but I will pay attention for a while. My common sense is turned on.
