I found myself wondering tonight what the athletes will do tomorrow when they get home. Will there be a period of withdrawal after the high of the games? Will they talk nonstop to friends and family about their adventures and achievements, their successes and goals for future games, the new friends they made, and their plans to move to British Columbia? Will they go for a walk with a loved one or a friend so that they can digest the experience of the last seventeen days and the many hundreds that went into preparing for them? Will they take a brief hiatus before contemplating their next competition? Will they, like the NHL players, fly home to prepare for practice the next day? After all, the olympic break that put a pause in the hockey season will be released and it's back to the hometeam practice with gameday just two days away.
sigh... Will those with medals set off the detectors at the airports? Will they declare them as precious?
Will they laugh and cry when the memories begin to flood back?
I think I would. I know I did. I have and I will again.
And I'm just sitting on this side of a 17inch colour tv set.
And... I don't even have pms! hehe Start blogging by creating a new post. You can edit or delete me by clicking under the comments. You can also customize your sidebar by dragging in elements from the top bar.
